Welcome to hackles.de
Shortly after the turn of the millennium, a few motivated geeks met in an IRC chat room, where they regularly looked forward to the latest comics from hackles.org and laughed at the funny and nerdy stories.
The idea to publish the comics in German translation was quickly born. In consultation with the authors of hackles.org (Drake and Jen), we started the project and immediately got a cool design created by a web designer friend of ours.
The project was mainly active until 2004 and again briefly in 2006, because unfortunately Drake and Jen stopped drawing the comics. Since then, the site has remained unchanged online and has been moved from server to server.
2019: A lot has changed in web design since then, and we are trying to bring hackles.de up to date and get rid of some old baggage at the same time. The comics themselves remain unchanged, of course, and show a bit of internet nerd culture from the year 2000.
We hope everyone who already knows these comics, and of course all new visitors, enjoy reading them.
